How you'll make a difference:
As a Finance Assistant, you will provide a comprehensive financial and data processing service to the Children's Finance Team. The team provide a range of strategic advice and operational financial support services to council departments.
What you will be doing:
- You will be responsible for maintaining and updating information systems and databases to ensure that service transactions are completed accurately.
- Daily, you will provide advice and respond to queries from customers, ensuring they receive appropriate guidance about policies, procedures and processes whilst maintaining an effective working relationship.
- It will be key for you to undertake a range of administrative tasks and work on varied projects including carrying out research, writing reports, presenting information and ensuring records are accurate which will help to inform decision making.
What we need from you:
- You will have relevant knowledge and experience of working in an organisation that delivers a range of financial and data processing services, including paying and raising invoices and using electronic systems.
- We require you to have a minimum of 3 GCSEs including English and maths or an equivalent qualification.
- You need to have the ability to analyse and evaluate information from a variety of sources to inform judgements and make decisions.
- Good interpersonal skills are essential as you will need to communicate with a diverse range of people.
- You will have a good understanding and experience of IT within a finance setting.
- Ideally, you will have knowledge of Dynamics 365.

- This role is hybrid, with a mixture of working at our office in Yate and working from home.
