Job overview

This is an exciting opportunity for a Band 5 nurse to join a relatively new team, which aims to help young people at risk of developing psychosis who are experiencing an at-risk mental state. The Therapeutic Interventions for Distressing unusual Experiences Service (TIDES) is a team working therapeutically with young people across Norfolk & Waveney.

Your choice of base could be Norwich, Great Yarmouth, or King's Lynn. However you would be expected to work flexibly between bases in Norwich, Great Yarmouth, Kings Lynn, and home.

We are a supported team currently made up of clinical psychology, systemic family therapy, cognitive behavioural therapists, mental health practitioners, support workers and a vocational worker, all of whom are from a variety of professional backgrounds.

Our team will be offering young people evidence-based interventions such as psychoeducational work, individual CBT and family therapeutic work aimed at helping our young people and their families to manage their unusual experiences. TIDES practitioners work with small manageable caseloads and hold an integrated approach to the care we provide.

Main duties of the job

As a lead care professional you’ll play a key role in our service users recovery, you’ll work with them to create a collaborative recovery care plan and review this regularly . You will work with the service user, carers, external agencies and other services to ensure the service received is streamlined and cohesive.

You’ll be working alongside a multi-disciplinary team and part of your role will be to support in assessments and provide treatment, we will provide opportunities for you to learn and develop these skills. You’ll regularly be working with external agencies as part of a service users care, so being able to work well in a team and having excellent communication skills is vital.

You can expect a thorough induction and training period, as well as opportunities for ongoing development.

You can expect a manageable case load and a supportive management team to ensure you’re able to work independently but support is never far away if needed. You will receive regular management and clinical supervision.

You’ll be motivated, compassionate, and keen to ensure our service users receive the best possible outcomes.
