The team also has a key role in the implementation of any civil emergency procedures and is the first point of contact for all Social Work business out with normal office hours.
Based at Seymour House, you will undertake rostered duties out with normal working hours (including evenings, weekends, public holidays and night working).
There is no obligation on the Children & Families to offer you work, nor are you obliged to accept work.

RequirementsYou will have a Degree in Social Work, CQSW, Dip Social Work, CSS (with appropriate option).
ResponsibilitiesYou will contribute to the Out of Hours Social Work service by undertaking rostered duties during which time the Co-ordinator will assume responsibility for receiving referrals and taking appropriate action on all calls relating to the need for a Social Work service.
The IndividualYou will have post-qualifying experience in Child Protection/Adult Support & Protection, with a knowledge of relevant legislation.
You will be able to make independent decisions, have excellent written and verbal communication skills and possess crisis management and negotiating skills.
You will have the ability to assess and manage risk and be able to prioritise accordingly.
You must be able to work at nights, weekends and public holidays, flexibly and at short notice. You should have a willingness to undertake additional training.
You will be able to register with the Scottish Social Services Council within specified timescales.
This post is considered Regulated Work with Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme update check, prior to a formal offer of employment being made by Dundee City Council.
