Are you an experienced Food Technology Teacher looking for work in Birmingham?

Winner Education are seeking a Food Technology Teacher for a secondary school in Erdington, Birmingham. This role is due to start after the Easter holidays and will be long term on a part time basis, 4 days per week. You must have previous experience in delivering to KS3 and GCSE pupils.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Work alongside the Curriculum Lead to ensure the curriculum is up to date and meets the needs of the students
  • Be the sole lead teacher for the department and lead all exam prep and data entry
  • Adapt lessons to suit the needs of children
  • Create a stimulating learning environment
  • Support KS3 and KS4 pupils
  • Conduct assessments and progress reports for individual pupils
  • Ensure pupils are meeting set targets
  • Host parents evening when required
  • Produce interactive and engaging lesson plans to deliver to the leaners
  • Provide additional support and booster sessions to pupils

The successful Food Technology Teacher must:

  • Support students with the transition of the next stage of their education or training
  • Have previous experience working in a secondary school
  • Hold a QTS or significant experience within teaching Food Technology
  • Demonstrate excellent knowledge and understanding of the national curriculum
  • Have strong resilience and patience
  • Be a great team-player and form good relationships within the school environment
  • Good classroom and behaviour management
