Medical Receptionist (Part-time)
King Edward Road Surgery currently a vacancy for Receptionist to join our vibrant and friendly team.
Job Description
This role is heavily telephone based. Reception answer around 300 calls per day as well as making outgoing calls to patients on behalf of the clinicians and administration team. Alongside this, we also process prescriptions, chaperone GP consultations, handle post, register and deduct patients from the patient list and deal with general enquires.You will always be busy, but the days go by quickly and our team are very supportive.
Other duties involve:- Offer general assistance to the surgery team and project a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors
- Assist and signpost patients in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient and effective way
Flexibility is a must as cover is required for holidays and/or sick leave.

Hours and payMonday: 8.00am - 13.30pm
Wednesday: 08.00am - 18.00pm
Thursday: 07.45am - 13.30pm
Friday: 07.45am - 18.30pm
Holiday: 30 days including bank holidays
You will be paid at a rate of £11.44 per hour. The successful candidate will also have access to the NHS pension scheme.At the moment, we do not offer an extended hours service. However, if we do in the future you may be required to cover these on a rotating basis. These consist of two early mornings, one late evening and a Saturday morning.
