UHL are pleased to offer the following exciting Lead Pharmacy Technician posts in the Professional Development team & Clinical Assurance team (PDCA)
This individual will be expected to work on all three sites of UHL.
This individual will ensure the delivery of an efficient, high quality, innovative, cost effective service, that meets local and national standards and adhering to professional guidelines, ethical codes of practice and legal requirements.
And to support all pharmacy services to have the appropriate competencies to maintain agreed standards of service delivery.
They will have responsibility to lead the undergraduate Pharmacy placement program, working closely with De Montfort University and the University of Leicester to ensure that the curriculum requirements are met.

Main duties of the job
To be the lead Pharmacy Technician within the Professional development team to support and facilitate the Pharmacy undergraduate placement program. To ensure the delivery of an efficient, high quality, innovative, cost effective service, that meets local and national standards and adhering to professional guidelines, ethical codes of practice and legal requirements.
To support all pharmacy services to have the appropriate competencies to maintain agreed standards of service delivery.
To support with the management of the Pre-registration Pharmacy Technician program, acting as educational supervisor and the facilitation of rotations throughout the training period.
To be responsible for ensuring quality monitoring systems are developed, implemented and agreed and that targets and standards are set.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities- To manage and facilitate the Pharmacy undergraduate placement program, to liaise with external and internal stakeholders to ensure criteria is met.
- To support the delivery of training and assessing the competency of Pre-registration Pharmacy technicians and where appropriate, Pharmacy technicians, trainee Pharmacists and Pharmacists, in conjunction with the pharmacy professional development team.
- Plan on-going training and assessment in technical pharmacy procedures of all staff, including rotational staff ensuring staff are competent and confident in delivering pharmacy services within own defined area, and that performance of those staff is managed and maximised

Person specification
Training and Qualifications
Essential criteria- Registration as a qualified Pharmacy Technician GPhC
- Project management experience
- Management qualification or equivalent
Experience
Essential criteria- Post qualification experience
- Ability to motivate, effective cross team working and influence change within teams
- Evidence of building relationships with teams and colleagues
- Experience training and development role
Communication
Essential criteria- High level of verbal and written communication skills
Analytical and Judgement
Essential criteria- Evidence of service evaluation and improvement

Disclosure and Barring Service Check
Please note if you are successful in obtaining this position and the post involves regulated activity you will be required to undertake a Disclosure & Barring Service check.
The Trust will pay for the check initially and the money will then be deducted from your salary over a three month period commencing on your first month's payment.
The current price of a check is £38 for an enhanced and £18 for a standard check.
