This new and exciting role will provide the post holder an opportunity to lead on workforce transformation programmes and financial sustainability plans to enable us to provide a strategic and coordinated approach to workforce planning here at WWL.

A key focus of this role will be to lead on strategic and operational workforce plans and provide HR leadership into digital workforce and informatics programmes for the Trust.

This role is based at Buckingham Row, Brick Kiln Lane, Wigan. WN1 1XX although hybrid working is available there is a requirement forfrequent travel to Trust sites.

  • Provide highly specialist knowledge and expertise to workforce transformation programmes across the Trust, leading the delivery of the programme and using clinical and operational leadership to drive forward the relevant programmes of work.

Plan and deliver the necessary schemes of work connected to workforce transformation, in particular, lead on the liaison with Health Education England in relation to bids for new roles for example, Advanced Practitioners, Approved Clinicians, and take a lead role on implementation, working in partnership with relevant professional departments.

To develop a strategic implementation plan which include highly complex facts requiring analysis, interpretation and a comparison of a range of options in relation to HR systems, including ESR.

Provide workforce expertise to Trust transformation programmes liaising with relevant HR Senior Leadership Team colleagues as needed to take a coordinated approach to the work attached to those programmes.

Lead on the coordination of submission of the workforce elements of the Operational Plan.

  • Develop strong networks within the Trust and GM to ensure that best practice is applied and that opportunities for development and innovation are maximised.
  • Work closely with the Associate Director of Staff Experience to ensure that any training needs identified as a result of workforce planning or transformation is built into the overall workforce training needs analysis for the Trust.
  • Work closely with the Transformation Team to ensure models to outline workforce plans in response to the business planning process exist and inform workforce priorities moving forward.
  • Hold budgetary responsibility for the monies provided to the Trust from Health Education England to support workforce transformation.
  • Keep abreast of relevant national developments in workforce and HR.
  • Undertake supervision and appraisals of relevant team members.
  • To undertake any other reasonable duty, when requested to do so by an appropriate Trust manager.

  • To understand the Trusts Strategic Goals and how you can support them.
