Job overview

Langley Green Hospital in Crawley are looking for a

Band 3 Inpatient Activities Clinical Support Worker to join the Multi-disciplinary team on the ward.

The Band 3 Inpatient Activities Clinical Support Worker role is full time 37.5 hours and evening and weekend working essential.

Langley Green is a acute inpatient hospital for working age and older adults with functional mental health and physical health needs.

Main duties of the job

The Band 3 Inpatient Activities Clinical Support Worker role includes facilitation of recreational, social and educational groups and individual activities for the service users on the ward.

This role involves planning, promoting, delivering and evaluating activities in accordance with service users' needs.

You would be part of a supportive and friendly multidisciplinary team with opportunities to work in close collaboration with colleagues including: Occupational Therapists, Occupational Therapy Clinical Support Worker, Nurses, Nursing Assistants, Doctors, Social Workers, Psychologists, Employment Specialist and Chaplin.

You will also work with our community practitioners to support service users in their recovery.

Your skills will be developed through Clinical Supervision and Training opportunities.

To protect the health and safety of our staff/workers, patients, and those attending our sites, we encourage our workforce to get fully vaccinated against COVID.

To work with other members of the multidisciplinary team to facilitate recreational, social and educational group and individual activities to the service users’ on the ward/unit. To lead, plan, promote, deliver and evaluate delegated activities in accordance with the service users’ needs to meet goals identified in the individuals positive wellness plan.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • A recognised qualification in an area related to the workplace or equivalent technical/life skills
  • Evidence of a commitment to lifelong learning
  • Health care or relevant NVQ level 3 or equivalent skills

Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Experience of working with people with mental health needs in a paid or voluntary capacity
  • Experience of working with people with mental health difficulties
  • Experience running groups/activities
  • Experience working as part of a team
  • Experience of being supervised
