The Directorate of Biochemistry is split across 4 sites with the post holder based at the Wythenshawe site. All sites have state of the art equipment including the largest fully automated Roche tracking system in Europe incorporating Roche 8100 /p612 pre analytic systems, Roche 702, 801 and Roche Pro analysers.

Our Specialist Chemistry sections at Oxford Road and Wythenshawe sites boast internationally renowned specialised assays comprising of array of Waters, Thermo and Sciex Mass Spectrometry instruments using highly advanced analytical methods plus various other techniques such as HPLC, RIA, ELISA, Calculi Analysis and other manual assays.

The department also invests heavily in research and development to ensure Biochemistry stays at the fore front of technologies.

The Post holder will act as an Associate Practitioner assisting HCPC registered staff within the Biochemistry Directorate with additional responsibility for clinical trials.

The main duties of the post are to act as a point of contact for trial sponsors and to communicate directly with them regarding data queries, enquiries relevant to the trial and research team, communicate with staff at all levels, both internal and external relating to trial activities and toassist the BMS by preparing and sorting samples.

The main duties of the post are to input and collate information relating to clinical trials, maintain a database of clinical trials activities, receipt, sort, label and process potentially hazardous specimens following departmental SOPs, and to support in the safe disposal of clinical trial samples and storage of records once a trial is completed following agreed timescales set out in the contract/ SLA.
