This is an exciting opportunity to join our team of business analysis experts, enabling organisation-wide changes by marrying analysis and creativity to drive efficiency and ensure best use of technology and application solutions.
About the role
The purpose of this role is to understand business strategy, aims and requirements; and suggest/uncover IT solutions and business practices that align to the Council’s processes and direction of travel.
You will be responsible for analysing and documenting business processes, presenting options analyses and driving necessary change across an organisational-wide programme of work.
In the context set out above, main areas of responsibility include:
Understanding the organisations’ business strategy, across all services, to provide clear definition of business requirements, and translation of those to technology and software development requirementsDefining and refining business processes, to ensure optimum efficiency
Understanding capabilities of technology and software that support, or could potentially support efficient business processes
Establishing credible, professional relationships with stakeholders across the organisation, at all levels
Providing specialist challenge to the design of systems and processes
Knowledge of automation and how to include in process improvement analysis
The Business Analysis Team are supporting an organisation-wide transformation programme, focused on maintaining quality service provision by the most efficient means. In this role, you will be leading projects concerning our key line of business processes and applications, across the whole organisation.The scope and nature of our involvement will be sculpted by the business requirement. Imperative across all projects is building rapport at all responsibility levels to ensure full understanding of business needs; and influence decision-making that is most effective.
About you
Essential:
Significant senior-level experience in business analysis and/or application support, business improvement or change managementGood understanding of existing tech and delivering efficiencies
Knowledge and experience of delivering organisation-wide IT and business change
Modelling to produce rich/informative images to enable informed decision making
Desirable:
Understanding of Council policies, structure and service-provision; as well as political structures and decision-making processesHigh level logical reasoning and analytical abilities, capable of breaking down and understanding multifaceted and complex issues
Ability to negotiate with and influence stakeholders in complex and challenging situations
