Job overview
  • To support the implementation and delivery of commissioning functions of primary care services (medical, community pharmaceutical, ophthalmic and dental services) as delegated to the ICB on behalf of NHS England.
Main duties of the job
  • To support the primary care team to ensure that the portfolio of programmes and projects is planned, managed and delivered effectively to support the provision of an efficient, effective and high quality professional and co-ordinated primary care function capable of meeting all statutory, regulatory and NHS requirements for primary care services across BSW.
  • To respond to the communication from primary care contractors on operational, resilience and contractual issues as first point of contact.

BSW ICB have adopted agile working so this means the successful applicant will predominately be working from home but may be requested to work in any one of the ICB’s office bases across BaNES, Swindon and Wiltshire. You will also have a contractual base within the BSW ICB office where your team is based.

Knowledge, Training and Experience

Essential criteria
  • The post holder will be required to have a good understanding of continuing healthcare within the NHS, Local Authority (LA), independent and third sector provider market and be able to communicate and negotiate effectively with all parties.
  • Educated to degree level in relevant subject or equivalent level of experience of working at a similar level in specialist area
  • experience and training – e.g., PCC development modules / Post Grad Diploma
  • Further training or significant experience in project management, financial management or supporting change management processes.

Communication Skills

Essential criteria
  • Clear communicator with excellent writing, report writing and presentation skills; capable of constructing and delivering clear ideas and concepts concisely and accurately for diverse audiences
  • Evidence of success in efficient and effective project delivery
  • Skills for communication on complex matters and difficult situations, requiring persuasion and influence.
  • Skills for nurturing key relationships and maintaining networks.

Analytical

Essential criteria
  • Ability to analyse and interpret information, pre-empt and evaluate issues, and recommend an appropriate course of action to address the issues
  • Problem solving skills and ability to respond to sudden unexpected demands.
  • Attention to detail combined with the ability to extract key messages from complex analysis.
  • Independent thinker with demonstrated good judgement, problem -solving and analytical skills.
  • Able to advise in relation to decisions on difficult and contentious issues where they may be a number of courses of action.
