Senior Health and Safety Advisor

We are currently representing a client within the construction industry, in Sussex who is seeking a Senior Health and Safety Advisor to join their team on a 6-month fixed term contract. This role is ideal for an experienced professional who is passionate about maintaining high standards of health and safety and ensuring compliance within a vibrant work environment.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Develop and implement health and safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
- Conduct risk assessments and site inspections to identify potential hazards and implement preventative measures.
- Provide health and safety training to staff at all levels to ensure compliance with current legislation and standards.
- Lead investigations into accidents and near-miss incidents and report findings to senior management.
- Liaise with external health and safety regulators and ensure all practices meet legal requirements.
- Monitor compliance with health and safety legislation and update procedures as necessary.
- Advise on a range of specialist areas, e.g., fire regulations, hazardous substances, noise, safeguarding machinery, and occupational diseases.
- Prepare health and safety reports and documentation for management review.
- Support the continuous improvement of health and safety practices.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Health and Safety Advisor, preferably in a senior role.
- NEBOSH diploma or equivalent in Health and Safety management.
- Strong knowledge of health and safety laws and regulations.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage with all levels of staff.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office and health and safety management systems.
