We are seeking a skilled Field Service Engineer to join our expanding team nationwide. This regional role covers London and the South East, reporting to the Field Service Engineering Manager.The role entails delivering exceptional support and customer service as a key member of the Field Service Team, including conducting proactive maintenance, repairs, and commissioning of gas detection products at customer sites. Key responsibilities involve servicing, calibrating, and repairing equipment to required standards, ensuring operational functionality, providing team support, offering user training, collaborating with the Service Admin team for job scheduling, accurate completion of service reports, managing van stock and calibration gases, maintaining personal protective equipment and service equipment, and fostering relationships with Area Sales Managers to support sales growth.
Essential Requirements of the Field Service Engineer- Experience in instrument/electronic equipment service, troubleshooting/repair, commissioning, and/or installation.
- HNC/HND in an electrical/electronic field or equivalent understanding gained from work experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Working knowledge of control panel assembly, components, and PLC knowledge advantageous but not necessary.
- Understanding of Health and Safety requirements.
- Familiarity with RAM’s & POWRA’s.
- Full driving license.
- Previous experience with fire alarm systems or similar electronic devices is desirable.
- Pferably holds Confined Space, IPAF, and Safety Passport certifications, but training is provided.
- Prior Field Service Engineering experience is advantageous but not essential.
- Overtime compensated at 1.5X the regular hourly rate
- 37.5-hour workweek as outlined in the contract
- Travel time accounted for within paid working hours
