Registered Nurse - Ophthalmology IPH | East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust
We are looking for an enthusiastic, dynamic and highly motivated Registered Nurse to join our friendly, forward thinking Ophthalmology team at Ipswich Hospital.
We promote a team approach ethos towards service improvements with all staff included in supporting new developments.
You will be required to promote the highest possible standards of care based on professionally determined standards and accept accountability for the patient as an individual, providing autonomy.
Please note, this is a fixed term or secondment position until 31st October 2025. Internal candidates will be offered a secondment position only.- Assess, plan, provide and evaluate care at all stages for the ophthalmic patient according to the Integrated Care Pathway (where applicable)/ under supervision.
- Keep relevant and accurate records of care (manual and computerised)
- To be responsible for the quality of data recorded. This data should be accurate, legible (if hand written), recorded in a timely manner, kept up to date and appropriately filed
- Perform routine drug administration meeting the local policy/ NMC guidelines including cannulation and IV drug administration were appropriate.
- Prioritise care, and organise own work load and that of junior staff where appropriate Work as part of a multi disciplinary team demonstrating awareness of own role and others roles and responsibilities
- Demonstrate effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Assist in the supervision of junior staff Implement directorate and ESNEFT policies and guidelines ie Health & safety, Moving a & Handling & Infection Control where appropriate
- Assist in cleaning, preparation use and maintenance of equipment
- Effectively communicate with colleagues, patients and visitors, seeking advice from MDT where appropriate.
