Job Overview

Account Executives play a crucial role in the delivery of high-quality comms results for our client base. The work is varied and, with the support of the team, Account Executives are expected to turn their hand to different activities as required by the client.

Their day-to-day responsibilities include developing compelling short and long-form content, often on complex or technical topics.

They will take on a significant amount of media pitching for clients and be responsible for securing media coverage in target press, as well as building and maintaining positive journalist relationships.

They will also be expected to engage with influencers and contribute to social media campaigns as required, and undertake basic design work on Canva.

Account Executives also undertake administrative activities on client accounts. This is vital for the smooth running of accounts and includes maintaining activity trackers, scanning the media for client coverage, taking meeting notes, preparing media lists and editorial calendars, and managing the logistics for events.

Key responsibilities
  • Identifying news stories and developing media pitches
  • Writing press releases, articles and other content
  • Pitching the media to secure client coverage and building journalist relationships
  • Preparing and managing media lists and editorial calendars
  • Developing lists of social influencers to target with the campaigns listed
  • Developing social media campaign ideas
  • Monitoring and reporting client coverage
  • Maintaining activity trackers and reports
  • Regular reporting to Senior Account Executives and Account Managers
  • Administrative support for new business pitches

Role in team

Account Executives report to either Senior Account Executives or Account Managers on each of their accounts and are likely to be line managed by an Account Manager. They will be responsible for delivering a lot of the work on their accounts, which will be overseen by Account Managers on a day-to-day basis and overseen by Account Directors from a strategic perspective.
