Registrar in Obstetrics and Gynaecology

The Gynaecology Registrar (ST3) plays a key role in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of gynaecological conditions. This includes providing care in outpatient clinics, inpatient wards, operating theatres, and emergency settings. The registrar is also expected to participate in on-call duties, supervise junior doctors, and contribute to teaching and research activities.
The postholder will participate in the Registrar rota with prospective cover with other doctors within the department to provide structured handover to colleagues to ensure continuity of care for patients. Provide appropriate level of support to the Consultant in the care of the patients and share in the proper functioning of the hospital.
Work as a member of the Multi-Disciplinary Team. Communicate with Consultants, Ward Managers, Nurses and other professions both hospital and community-based, in order to facilitate the management of patients and maintain a high standard of service and continuity of care.
Undertake the administrative duties associated with the care of his/her patients and the efficient running of the Obstetrics & Gynaecology department. Ensure that up-to-date, accurate, legible and comprehensive signed notes are recorded in the patients case notes The successful post holder will participate on a full shift 1:14 on call rota which is both New Deal & EWTD compliant.
