Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for committed, enthusiastic and highly motivated Healthcare Support worker to join our team in Gynaecology Clinic at Ipswich hospital.

Healthcare Support workers are a key part of our team and support the Registered Nurses in providing high quality care to our patients.

Do you want to be part of a team with an excellent reputation for delivering a high standard of care, ensuring we keep our patients safe and that they have a positive experience under our care.

Healthcare Support Workers work a rota pattern, so you MUST be able to work a variety of shifts, including days, nights and weekends including Bank Holidays such as Christmas Day.

Experience in the health care setting is essential.

This is part time-30hpw post on fixed term/secondment contract until 29.03.2026.

Main duties of the job
  • To meet the direct and indirect care needs of patients under the delegation and supervision of a Registered Professional
  • To ensure high standards of patient care at all times, in line with Trust policies and guidelines
  • To work as an effective member of the nursing and wider multi-professional healthcare team
  • To work within the boundaries of the role of the HCA supporting more junior colleagues as required and refer to the Registered Nurse as appropriate

  • Care certificate achieved or demonstrable relevant skills
  • Level 3 vocational qualification or equivalent experience
  • Evidence of completed competencies as part of a professional portfolio

  • Evidence of functional skills or willingness to undertake
