Teaching Personnel is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Part-Time Teaching Assistant to join a supportive Special Educational Needs (SEN) School in Surbiton. This role is ideal for someone with experience or a strong interest in working with children with additional needs, including autism, learning difficulties, and physical disabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEN.
- Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored learning activities.
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.
- Support students with personal care and mobility if required.
- Help manage behaviour and encourage positive social interactions.
- Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and parents to monitor progress.
Ideal Candidate:
- Previous experience working with children with SEN (in schools, care settings, or voluntary roles).
- Patience, empathy, and a passion for supporting vulnerable learners.
- Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE, Level 2/3 TA, or equivalent) are desirable but not essential.
- Knowledge of PECS, Makaton, or Team Teach is advantageous.
- Ability to adapt to individual student needs and work as part of a team.
