Hours: Flexible (2-3 days per week, term-time only)

Teaching Personnel is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Part-Time Teaching Assistant to join a supportive Special Educational Needs (SEN) School in Surbiton. This role is ideal for someone with experience or a strong interest in working with children with additional needs, including autism, learning difficulties, and physical disabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEN.
  • Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored learning activities.
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.
  • Support students with personal care and mobility if required.
  • Help manage behaviour and encourage positive social interactions.
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and parents to monitor progress.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Previous experience working with children with SEN (in schools, care settings, or voluntary roles).
  • Patience, empathy, and a passion for supporting vulnerable learners.
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE, Level 2/3 TA, or equivalent) are desirable but not essential.
  • Knowledge of PECS, Makaton, or Team Teach is advantageous.
  • Ability to adapt to individual student needs and work as part of a team.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
