Job overview

We have an exciting opportunity to join our Geriatrics and Stroke administration team and make a meaningful impact in a healthcare setting!

As a Clinical Typist, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient running of our department by providing high-quality audio typing and clerical support. You will work closely with our dedicated Patient Pathway Coordinators, contributing to the seamless flow of patient information and care pathways.

This position is ideal for someone who is passionate about providing accurate, efficient, and confidential support in a fast-paced clinical environment. Your work will directly contribute to maintaining high standards of patient care and supporting our clinical teams.

You will be joining a collaborative team that values attention to detail, time management, and the ability to work under pressure while ensuring patient care remains the priority. In addition to your typing responsibilities, you will also be expected to assist with general clerical tasks and respond to inquiries in a professional and timely manner.

Person specification

Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Computer literate with excellent keyboard skills.
Desirable criteria
  • Medical terminology
  • Working knowledge of PAS and the NHS in general.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Good general education including English GCSE at grade C or above (or equivalent)
Desirable criteria
  • Touch Typing Qualification
  • NVQ Level II Admin (or equivalent)

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience of working within an office environment.
  • Quality Customer Service

Contractual

Essential criteria
  • Ability to work under pressure and adhere to strict deadlines.
  • Good team member
  • Diplomatic and tactful.
