Join the Heart of England Co-operative Society's Funeral Division as a Funeral Logistics Co-ordinator and play a vital role in supporting families through their journey of remembrance. The salary starts at £27.5k, rising to £29.3k after the successful completion of a probationary period.

Role Overview

As a Funeral Logistics Co-ordinator, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional client service throughout all stages of the funeral journey—before, during, and after. This position requires managing bookings, overseeing logistics, coordinating transfers, and ensuring the smooth operation of funeral-related activities.

Your role will contribute to both the reputational and financial success of our funeral operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage diary bookings and coordinate all aspects of funeral services.
  • Oversee the conveyance and transfer of deceased individuals, including chapel of rest visits and repatriations.
  • Collaborate with funeral directors, arrangers, and external partners (hospitals, coroners, cemeteries, crematoriums) to ensure efficient operations and exceptional service.
  • Maintain and manage the funeral fleet, ensuring vehicles are clean, serviced, and well-maintained.
  • Handle internal logistics office administration, including stock orders, management information (MI), and on-call rotas.
  • Ensure compliance with all procedures, including GDPR, Health & Safety, and Society Policies.

About You

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Strong Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal English.
  • Technical Proficiency: Good knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and online portals.
  • Organisational Abilities: Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple tasks.
  • Professionalism and Empathy: A caring, calm, and professional demeanour.
  • Physical Capability: Ability to perform manual lifting and other physical tasks.
  • Teamwork: A cooperative approach to working with colleagues and external stakeholders.
  • Full UK Driving License.
