Locum Consultant in Vascular Interventional Radiology

MFT are looking for an enthusiastic Consultant Vascular Interventional Radiologist to join our team to support the GM major trauma network.
The MFT VIR team provide a full range of interventions to support vascular surgery, major trauma, hepatobiliary surgery, hepatology, urology, paediatric intervention, renal and pancreatic transplant surgery, plastic surgery, cardiology and cardiothoracic surgery including ECMO and heart/lung transplantation.There is a consultant of the day role based at the MRI site, established IR clinics and a nurse led radiology pre-op service.
Main duties of the job
The appointee will work alongside the 14 existing Vascular Interventional Radiologists, providing angio lists, support to hybrid vascular operating, MDT's, vascular reporting, VIR consultant of the day role, IR clinic and form part of a two tier 1:8 cross city VIR rota.
As well as two MFT sites, MFT VIR consultants also provide services at Salford Royal Hospital and at The Royal Oldham hospital as part of the vascular service currently based there.
Successful candidates will reasonably be expected to work across multiple sites, in both elective and on-call settings, in line with the Hub and Spoke model of VIR service delivery and alongside the existing consultants.

Person specification
Qualifications & Training
Essential criteria- MB.ChB or equivalent
- Postgraduate qualification (eg FRCR) or equivalent
- Completion of basic training in Clinical Radiology
- Completion of higher training in Interventional Radiology or within 6 months of CCT
- Experience in vascular intervention including aortic, peripheral and vascular access intervention
- Higher qualification (eg MD in Radiology)
Academic Achievements & Research
Essential criteria- A specialist interest in Vascular Interventional radiology
- Exeperience of clinical audit / quality improvement
- Research projects / publications relating to Interventional vascular radiology
