To provide a high quality MR service to all patients at Manchester University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (MFT).The MR Departments within MFT consist of 1 Siemens SOLA 1.5T MRI Scanner at Trafford Hospital, 1 Siemens SOLA 1.5T MRI Scanner at Withington Hospital, a Siemens Viato 1.5T Mobile Unit and a wide bore Siemens Aera 1.5 T at Manchester Royal Infirmary, 2 newly installed Siemens SOLA 1.5T MRI Scanners at Wythenshawe Hospital and North Manchester Hospital have a GE 1.5T Signa MRI scanner.
MFT MRI departments sites perform a range of pediatric and adult MR examinations running busy services with both outpatient and in patients. We perform a wide range of examinations including MRI Breast imaging, Urology, GI, Neuro, Cardiac, MSK, Pediatric and oncology to name a few.You will be expected to work a 12hour shift across a 7-day working pattern.
Main duties of the job
Primarily undertake radiographic duties in any of the MR scanners at MFT, ensuring high standards of radiographic quality and patient care are maintained and delivered in a timely manner.
To assess the patients’ condition and adapt technique accordingly. To communicate highly complex information. Where appropriate to inform relatives and carers when necessary of the procedure being undertaken.
Analyse complex tasks or situations requiring interpretation or comparison of a range of options. Possess specialist skills for assessing acute and other patient conditions, adapting MR parameters to complex cases.

- BSc in Radiography
- 2 years minimum MR experience
- MR relevant course
- IV Cannulation
- Evidence of advanced MR scanning techniques
- Experience in MR Pediatric Imaging
- Cross sectional (CT) imaging experience
- evidence of CPD
- Team leadership experience/ qualities
