Safety and Compliance Engineer
Full-time, 39 hours a week, Monday to Friday from 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM
Location: Beenham, Berkshire
Salary: £50,000 base + benefits

About the role...In this position, you will support our site team by carrying out safety and compliance inspections, risk assessments, compliance audits, and implementing practical solutions to ensure a safe and legally compliant working environment.
Your Key Responsibilities Will Include:
- Leading and participating in teams to enhance systems, processes, and equipment for improved safety.
- Performing regular safety inspections of maintenance activities, equipment, and facilities to spot hazards and guarantee compliance.
- Creating and maintaining safety and compliance records encompassing IP2X, fire alarm systems, and LEV.
- Overseeing PUWER inspections.
- Coordinating and executing remedial works for PUWER deficiencies.
- Leading and participating in addressing SHEQ concerns.
- Helping investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses, identifying root causes, and executing corrective measures.
- Contributing to safety committee meetings and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborating with the SHEQ lead, Site Engineering Manager, and compliance administration.
The ideal candidate should possess or demonstrate the following:
- A maintenance background in Mechanical and Electrical disciplines.
- Health and Safety qualifications (e.g., IOSH Managing Safely).
- Experience in personnel management.
- Background in FMCG or manufacturing sectors.
- Solid understanding of lean tools such as SMED, 5S, 5Y, and Kaizen.
