Bus Traffic Planning Lead

We are seeking talented and experienced Highway/Traffic Engineer to join our Bus Team at Transport for Greater Manchester as Bus Traffic Planning lead; working closely with the 10 Greater Manchester Council Highway Teams and our internal delivery teams contributing towards ensuring our buses operated efficiently and effectively on the highway network.
Your Role
As a Traffic Planning Lead, you will be working in a highly adaptive and busy environment. You will be representing TfGM’s Bus Team at both internal design panels and external meetings. You will also undertake site visits and data analysis, identifying and developing appropriate highway solutions to assist buses.
You’ll have an eye for detail and adherence to technical standards, whilst working in partnership with stakeholder to resolve highway issues as part of a multi-disciplinary team that develops bus priority and related infrastructure schemes (including new interchanges).
Who Are We?
The Bus Network Management Team are the traffic/highway engineering experts within our Bus Team. We are the key interface between the 10 Greater Manchester Council Highway Teams with the remit to minimise the impact of both permanent and temporary traffic management schemes on our buses and seeking to implement bus priority improvements.Internally we work extensively with our Highways, Projects Group and Strategy Teams to provide technical expertise as part of multi-disciplinary project teams (for all transport modes). As well as working extensively with the Greater Manchester bus operators.
