Production Manager

Production Manager - Immediate start - 6 months minimum Interim post

A 6-month (minimum) interim Production Manager opportunity has arisen to join one of the UK's most innovative and dynamic construction manufacturing companies based in Ince, Wigan.

Hours: Monday to Friday, 37.5-hour week.

Responsibilities:

The Production Manager will be responsible for managing and mentoring production staff, providing leadership and guidance to foster a positive and productive work environment. Some key responsibilities related to staff management include:

Staff Management:

• Develop and implement training programs to ensure that staff members have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their jobs effectively.
• Monitor and evaluate the performance of production staff and provide feedback on areas for improvement. Implement corrective actions as needed.
• Identifying resourcing requirements and following relevant processes to ensure recruitment needs meet.
• Foster a culture of teamwork and collaboration among production staff and other departments.
• Ensure that all staff members are aware of and adhere to company policies and procedures, including health and safety guidelines.
• Manage staff scheduling and resource allocation to ensure that production targets are met, and staffing levels are appropriate.
• Identify opportunities for career development and advancement for production staff and support their professional growth.

• Develop and implement strategies to improve production efficiency, reduce waste, and minimise costs
• Deliver the daily production plan optimising resources and communicating performance against targets & KPIs
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance quality, safety, and productivity
• Plan and manage the production process, ensuring that output meets quality, safety, and efficiency standards

• To be successful in this role, the Production Manager will have strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, as well as experience managing a team in a manufacturing or construction environment. The ability to inspire and motivate staff members to achieve their best work is also critical, as is the ability to resolve conflicts and build a positive team culture.
