Sandwell & West Birmingham NHS Trust would love to hear from you, as we are actively seeking to recruit a Band 4 Trainer / Assessor/ Coach to cover Maternity Leave for 15 months.
Main duties of the job
The postholder will work within the Healthcare Apprenticeship team, working on apprenticeships in Health Care Support Worker L2, Senior Health Care Support Worker L3 , and Functional Skills L1 and L2, as the provision demands.
Our teaching delivery model is a blended approach, consisting of remote learning and live sessions both online and in the classroom setting. The post holder must be an excellent communicator who is apprentice and quality focused.
Responsibilities include:
- deliver teaching and support apprentices to ensure progression for their standard
- overcome barriers to learning and adapt delivery to meet apprentice’s needs
- supporting development of apprentices to maximise full potential / stretch knowledge
- assess apprenrentices' knowledge and skills against the criteria with the standards and the Level 3 Diploma in Healthcare Support for apprentices undertaking the Senior Health Care Support Worker Standard.
- organise and maintain documentation on apprentices' progress
- supporting apprentices with feedforward to achieve their potential at End Point Assessment (EPA)
- review/ discuss apprentice development and progression with employers
- Support, advise and motivate apprentices.

Experience
Essential criteria- Working knowledge of QCF qualifications and or Apprenticeship Standards
- The ability to motivate candidates and learners to meet targets
- Experience of producing ILPs with SMART objectives for learners and maintaining them
- Experience of developing learning activities that engage learners and support their development
- Experience of managing a caseload of learners to gain timely achievement rates
- Experience of using digital assessment
- Invigilation of exams
Qualifications
Essential criteria- GCSE English, Maths, ICT A-C or equivalent (Level 2 Functional skills)
- Level 3, or above, Vocational Qualification in Healthcare e.g. NVQ Care Level 3, Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care
- Assessor Award - D32/33 or A1
- Teaching qualification such as CET Level 4 or 7307
- Maintain Occupational Competence
Personal Qualities
Essential criteria- Knowledge of the Health Care Apprenticeship standards
- Have good IT skills or willing to Train (user of OneFile and Microsoft Office Suite)
