Senior Healthcare Assistant
NHS Jobs Preston
One thing that we can promise you, is that no two days will ever be the same! We are also not going to shy away and say that this role will be easy; sometimes the role will be tough, you will see and be involved in some difficult things involving our patients.
Whilst personal care will form a large part of your role, you will also take samples from our patients for testing or dispatching, youll undertake clinical duties relevant to the area you are allocated, such as monitoring patients vital signs, accurately calculating Early Warning Scores, recognising signs of unwell Patients, and escalating in a timely manner.
Patient safety is in the essence of everything that we do here at the Trust, so maintaining a certain standard of care is so important. Due to these requirements, we ask that all our Senior Healthcare Assistants have a minimum of GCSE Grade C or above (Grade 4 9) in both English and Mathematics.
You will need to provide evidence for your qualifications. A level 2 in Health and Social Care is also an essential requirement for our external candidates. If you are working with us(LTHTR) as band 2 HCA for more than 12 months, you are exempted from having Level 2 Health and Social Care qualification requirement.
Non-UK nationals are expected to sit for an internal English assessment with us. If you do not have NVQ 3 in Health and Social you will need to undertake and complete Trust internal Level 3 training programme course. Please check your eligibility for the apprenticeship program.
