Our Technical Training Team are offering a new 12-month Traineeship aimed at Level 2 Electrically-qualified graduates seeking a rewarding career in Refrigeration. Through a series of internal and external training, work experience and portfolio criteria, this programme will ultimately equip you with the fundamental skills required to be a successful Refrigeration Engineer.
About the Job:
Throughout the 12-month programme, a dedicated mentor will guide and assist you in completing a comprehensive portfolio. The mentor will allow you to learn on the job and develop the essential technical skills needed to become a Refrigeration Engineer.
- For the first six months, you will work within the M&E team, whilst undergoing technical training and Refrigeration-based work experience.
- After completing F-Gas cat 1 and internal assessments, you will be fully integrated into your new Arcus Refrigeration team.
- Upon completing a 12-month end-point assessment and portfolio, you will progress to a Refrigeration Service Improver role. At this point you will be paid door to door and any overtime worked will be paid at x 1.5 rate.
- Between months 13-18, you will continue to work on an advanced portfolio, which will provide you with the knowledge and skills to become a successful Refrigeration Engineer
- Months 1-6
- Technical training at the new National Training Centre in Stevenage to prepare you for the F-Gas Cat 1 qualification and mid-programme internal assessment
- Introduction to portfolio
- Work experience in the Case Cleaning, Water Leak and Fabric teams
- Months 7-12
- Service Improver technical refrigeration training
- Comprehensive portfolio completion - assessing and recording the on-site technical skills you will be learning to demonstrate competence
- End-point assessment
- Months 13-18
- Advanced portfolio – preparing you for your Refrigeration Engineer assessment
To be successful you will have::
Essential:
- Minimum Level 2 Electrical Maintenance qualification
- Qualified at GSCE level in English, Maths and Science
- A genuine interest in Refrigeration
- Be able to work flexibly, as determined by business requirements. This will involve the use of a company van and travelling between stores or other locations
- Be willing to work longer hours during the summer months
- Be ready to work unsociable hours (some of the teams you will be working with for the first six months work night shifts)
- The Client requires 24/7 site cover, so shift cover will be required.
- Overtime may be required as dictated by client and workload demand
- Full UK driving licence
