Job Ref: Hampshire 107650Pay Rate: up to £268.00 per day PAYE max
Hours per week: 37 Monday – Friday, normal working hours
Role Length: This opening assignment is for 3 months
City: WINCHESTER
This role, based within the development team, will oversee 3-6 Casework Assistants on project-related tasks, including improving data quality, resolving provider queries, and addressing the annual review backlog. You will manage and supervise the EHC Needs Assessment, annual reviews, and placement processes for children and young people aged 0-25, determining appropriate support levels and identifying suitable placements for those with SEN.
Additionally, the role will involve overseeing complex casework, mediation, and tribunals, ensuring efficient and effective support throughout the process.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee the EHC Needs Assessment and placement process, ensuring assessments are completed efficiently and within statutory deadlines, and EHC plans are of high quality.Ensure children's needs are accurately described in their EHCPs.
Negotiate and secure educational provision and placements for children and young people in Hampshire.
Ensure annual reviews of EHCPs are conducted, with any amendments or changes made in consultation with parents and relevant parties.
Chair or represent the SEN Service at complex annual reviews, transition meetings, and case planning to secure effective outcomes for children.
Maintain up-to-date records for students to ensure a clear audit trail of involvement.
Advise parents, schools, colleges, and providers on implementing SEND decisions, managing expectations, and resolving disputes.
Key requirements:
A relevant degree or professional qualification in Special Educational Needs, Education, Social Work, or a related field.Excellent understanding and knowledge of SEN processes and legislation
Proven experience in working with children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
Must have the tribunal experience
Must have management experience
Strong communication skills, with the ability to negotiate effectively and collaborate with parents, schools, and external providers.Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage a caseload and work to statutory deadlines.
Ability to lead and chair meetings, particularly in complex cases or transition planning.
