We are looking for an experienced and motivated qualified Lead Nurse Practitioner to join our team and play a crucial role in providing specialist nursing expertise, advice and guidance to LIFE students and staff.In this position, you will be working in partnership with students, carers and professionals, assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating nursing/health support needs , be responsible for the design, development, maintenance and review of all medical/health documentation for learners attending LIFE courses and the administration of student medication and keeping appropriate records.
You also be responsible for developing, managing and reviewing protocols, guidelines, supply, storage and administration of PRN medication(including Rectal Diazepam and Buccal Midazolam) and Supervise staff in carrying out medical procedures and provide further support to enable them to do this if necessary.
The ideal candidate will have good verbal and written communication skills, the ability to work as part of an effective team member, to liaise effectively with a range of other agencies and services, excellent organisational and administrative skills, knowledge of a range of communication strategies and have an awareness of a range of learning difficulties and/or disabilities, including those with profound and complex needs.
You should be proficient in Microsoft Office and capable of managing multiple priorities effectively. At least two years current qualified nursing experience is essential, along with a commitment to providing a high-quality care for our students within the LIFE provision.You must have experience of oral and/or nasal suctioning, changing PEGS for learners that have a gastrostomy, gastronomy, oxygen therapy, urinary diversion, stoma , catheter care, epilepsy, moving and handling , diabetes and first Aid.
