The paediatric clinical psychologist team works across the services provided by the Royal National ENT Hospital (RNENTH) and in particular within paediatric audiology and paediatric auditory implants.

A team of six Psychologists provide assessment and psychological therapy, support children with hospital procedures, and are integral to a range of highly specialist multidisciplinary clinics such as auditory processing disorder clinic, and the paediatric tinnitus and hyperacusis clinic.

The psychologists are at the forefront in the UK in the understanding and management of paediatric tinnitus, hyperacusis, and misophonia and are actively engaged in research in these areas. The department attract referrals nationally from other Paediatric Audiology services.

We are looking for an experienced Clinical Psychologist to cover a 12 month period of maternity leave, from mid-March 2025. The successful applicant for this post will have experience in in working with young people, and their families, preferably with complex presentations, potentially including long term medical conditions (specifically hearing and speech related).

They will have organisational skills, and a strong commitment to team-work. This post would suit someone aiming to increase their experience at a higher-banding or in working in paediatrics. Training will be given in working with the specific presentations typically seen within the service.

The RNENTH is part of the UCLH NHS Foundation Trust. There is a wealth of specialist clinical and research expertise within the service and close links with the Ear Institute, University College London.

Candidates must have completed post-graduate level training in Clinical Psychology as accredited by the British Psychological Society, or British Psychological Society Statement of Equivalence and be registered as practitioner psychologists with the HCPC.
