As we look to 2025 and beyond, Aston University is driving forward at pace to deliver on our ambitious Aston 2030 Strategy. A key part of this journey is building strong, collaborative relationships with our supply chain partners and delivering a strategy that integrates value for money, sustainability, social impact, and innovation.

We are excited to invite applications for the role of Head of Procurement and Value, a critical leadership position where you will guide our procurement strategy, foster meaningful partnerships, and deliver real impact across the University.

This is a role where you can truly make a difference—not only shaping processes but contributing to a thriving, inclusive community at Aston.

Your Role

As Head of Procurement and Value, you’ll lead a team of talented professionals, working together to shape and deliver forward-thinking procurement strategies across a varied range of procurement activities including capital development, facilities, IT contracts and highly technical scientific equipment to support our world-class research.

You will contribute to Aston’s strategic aims and objectives, with particular focus on value for money, sustainability, and social value, as well as monitoring and improving non-pay efficiency and contract compliance so that all categories of spend are actively managed.

Why This Role?

This is more than a procurement role—it’s a chance to join a supportive and inclusive environment where your expertise will help shape the University’s future. You’ll have the autonomy to lead with purpose, make decisions that reflect your values, and work with a team that’s passionate about making a real difference.

We believe in fostering a culture where everyone can thrive, and we welcome diverse perspectives and fresh ideas. Your work will support not only our world-class education and research but also our commitment to creating positive social and environmental impact.

What You’ll Bring

We’re looking for a collaborative and inspiring leader who is excited by the opportunity to make an impact.

Together with your CIPS qualification you’ll bring:

Extensive procurement experience.
Knowledge of UK Public Contracts Regulations and compliance practices.
A proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop teams to deliver meaningful outcomes.
A strategic mindset paired with a passion for sustainable practices and innovation.

A commitment to fostering collaboration and building strong relationships across a range of stakeholders.
