Job Description:The Celestial Church of Christ, Salvation Ark Parish is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Religious Community Support Worker to support the church’s mission by providing care to vulnerable community members and engaging in outreach activities.
This role is vital in assisting the Minister of Religion and the outreach teams in offering spiritual and emotional support, while promoting the church's values through charitable and community-based initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:- Community Outreach and Engagement:
- Assist in organizing and conducting outreach programs to support the sick, elderly, and vulnerable individuals in the community.
- Promote the church’s charitable activities, such as food distribution, educational support, and community welfare programs.
- Providing Pastoral and Spiritual Support:
- Work closely with the Minister of Religion to offer spiritual guidance, prayer, and encouragement to congregation members in need.
- Visit congregation members in hospitals or at home, providing companionship, emotional support, and spiritual care.
- Supporting Religious and Charitable Events:
- Help organize and coordinate church events, services, and community outreach programs, ensuring smooth operation of activities that align with the church’s mission.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure effective planning and execution of charity initiatives.
- Administrative Support:
- Assist with administrative tasks related to pastoral care and community programs, including maintaining records and liaising with volunteers.
- Help with logistical and organizational support for community and outreach projects.
- Strong commitment to the Christian faith and a deep understanding of the Celestial Church of Christ’s teachings, beliefs, and hymns.
- Demonstrated experience in pastoral care or community support, ideally within a church or religious organization.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage and inspire individuals from diverse backgrounds.
- Compassionate approach to working with vulnerable groups, including children, youth, the elderly, and those with disabilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, under the leadership of the Minister of Religion.
- Basic administrative skills, with the ability to help organize events and maintain records.
- Enhanced DBS Check: As this role involves working with vulnerable adults and children, a current DBS check will be required before the appointment. The DBS check must be renewed every three years or as per church policy.
