Location: London – 3 days per week in the office
We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Internal Auditor to oversee the execution of audit programmes, and ensuring audits are delivered effectively within agreed scopes and timelines. The ideal candidate will be a qualified accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA) or IIA with significant experience in risk-based operational audits across areas such as asset management, corporate functions, and health & safety.Strong communication, leadership, and analytical skills are essential, along with experience in data analytics.
As a Lead Internal Auditor your main responsibilities will be:
Lead the Audit Team and execute the audit programme following the objectives set by and under the supervision of the Audit Manager.Deliver audits according to the scope and time estimate in the agreed Terms of Reference (ToR).
Prepare the draft ToR, the Audit Programme and the Audit Report, based on data analytics where applicable.
Review the audit work carried out by the Audit Team to confirm that Auditors properly conclude on the work performed.
Coach and train the Audit Team.
Maintain constructive working relationships with Auditee.
Key requirements:
Professional qualification – qualified accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA) or IIA.Significant experience on risk-based operational audits including but not limited to asset management, corporate functions, health & safety, capital programmes.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills – written and verbal, including report writing.
Ability to be a team player and to take the lead when appropriate.
Good problem solving, decision making and analytical skills.
Experience with data analytics.
Experience of working in transport, construction, energy, and other similar industries (desirable)
Risk management experience and/or controls and assurance experience (desirable)
