Role Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will work closely with our SEN Coordinator and teaching staff to support students with special educational needs, ensuring they have equal access to the curriculum and can fully participate in school life.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with SEN, both in and out of the classroom.
- Assist in the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
- Work collaboratively with teachers to adapt and differentiate lesson plans to meet the needs of SEN students.
- Support students in developing social skills, self-esteem, and independence.
- Monitor and record students' progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents.
- Promote an inclusive and positive classroom environment.
- Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities.
Candidate Requirements:
- Experience working with children with special educational needs, preferably in a secondary school setting.
- A relevant qualification in education or special educational needs is desirable.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a passion for supporting the educational and personal development of students with SEN.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
