Lead Site Operative - Kings Road

About the Role

We have a new opportunity for a Lead Site Operative to join our Kings Road team. You will be based at our Reuse and Recycling Centre in Chingford, North London.

The Lead Operative is to ensure the safe & efficient management and operation of the site, standing in for the RRC supervisor as required and assisting with leading the team to provide a high level of customer service. There is potential for career development for the right person.

LondonEnergyoperates the second largest waste contract in the UK, handling and processing nearly 750,000 tonnes of London’s waste every year. We have a dedicated team of people working across our various North London sites, making a positive difference to the environment and the local community.

By processing household waste at our facility, we produce enough waste from energy to power 80,000 homes every year and recycle 70% of items through our Reuse and Recycling Centres.

Responsibilities:

• To assist the Site Supervisor to ensure that operations are compliant with the respective Site Waste Management Permits. Carrying out daily site inspections and daily reporting and ensuring site rules and pre-approved RAMS are being followed at all times.
• To maintain and operate all other company internal electronic systems, including the Winweigh system. LondonEnergy procedures and safety systems
• To deal courteously with all members of the public in relation to site activities.
• Maintain high levels of housekeeping across the site at all times.

People Management:

• To ensure that appropriate staffing levels are maintained and team understand their rota week on week including standby weeks.
• To assist with leading and supporting the RRC team to consistently provide a high level of customer service to members of public and stakeholders Ensuring the safety of the public using the facilities.
• Managing the operations of the recycling site to ensure it is operating efficiently in the absence of the Site Supervisor. Including supervising all sub-contractor activities on site.

• Previous experience of working in a Waste Operations environment is desirable.
• Strong interpersonal skills particularly in dealing with the public.
• First Aid trained or working towards this qualification.

• Previous supervisory experience
• Be a competent user of Microsoft
• Current driving licence and willing to drive the company reuse van if required

• COTC qualified (desirable not essential)
