[ref. t53916821] Quality Governance Senior Data Management Developer - NHS
To monitor data utilisation activity and ensure efficient access to information, working with data analysis and design functions where appropriate. To create and update documentation for all new and existing processes/system developments, to allow ease of maintenance, and to ensure appropriate training or advice is given to other members of the department.
Work closely with the Information, Data Quality and Intelligence Analysts to ensure that the construction and presentation of data across multiple systems and reports is consistent and supports their requirements. To ensure that all designated project work is completed to specification and within the required time frame to agreed standards.
Participate in giving presentations of applications and reports to users and other interested parties, including senior operational managers, as and when required. Ensure that all processes and applications are properly tested, with appropriate liaising with prospective users to organise testing using real or realistic data.
To continually support the Quality Governance Systems Team in the provision of accurate and timely datasets to full fill reporting requirements of external stakeholders such as the Department of Health (DH) and regulatory bodies. Liaise with clinicians, senior Trust staff and relevant project teams to establish user requirements and business objectives to enhance the Trusts reporting and data management systems.
Participate in team, professional and personal development activities and promote a commitment to continuous development and improvement. Participate in and attend appropriate training courses and development activities relevant to the job as required.
To be the point of contact for specialist IT and Information staff as well as nontechnical staff and management, providing specialist advice and guidance in the use of querying, reporting and analysis tools and answering queries regarding any issues with data extracts and data management processes SERVICE DEVELOPMENT Support the delivery of the strategic development of designated Quality Governance Trust information and clinical applications and reporting systems, including systems analysis and design.
To develop and implement processes and solutions to assist clinicians, academics, senior managers in operational roles, the performance directorate and other information staff to meet the information requirements of the Trust as a whole. To assist in the design and development of key systems that extract information from appropriate data sources as required, using own judgement as to appropriate methods of extraction and presentation.To participate in the periodic review of the Trusts data manipulation processes and software, and to suggest and provide development solutions where appropriate. To undertake regular reviews to monitor and improve on data interrogation and production performance, using relevant software, including implementing clustered and non-clustered indexes on required fields to optimise database performance.
Continually work with the Quality Governance Systems Team members in identifying routine data manipulation tasks, and where possible developing automation routines for these tasks. To develop and maintain familiarity with relevant software tools and packages selected for use within the Trust.
Liaise with Trust staff and external system suppliers as required regarding access to systems and datasets and to assist in the evaluation of software/systems and associated upgrades. To lead on the development and deployment of informed reports and analysis using web based reporting services.
STANDARDS To manage data, including the regulation of access, in accordance with NHS and national policies and guidelines on: Data protection Confidentiality Security Governance To design, implement and maintain reports and systems to monitor adherence to NHS policies and directives e.g. calculating and reporting of waiting times and targets.
For the purposes of professional support and liaison, the post holder will align to a team of analysts which operate as a customer orientated resource pool within the Trusts Business Intelligence Department. The post holder may be at times required to work in collaboration with the Trusts Business Intelligence Department to provide specific informatics for their operational and corporate area.
