To primarily support the Property and Space Utilisation Team in undertaking and providing technical support relating to both property and space utilisation projects across multiple NHS Trusts.

Please note that this post does not meet the pay level required for a Skilled Worker Visa. Successful applicants with no prior NHS experience would normally be placed at the bottom of the band in line with Agenda for Change. This salary is below the minimum salary required for sponsorship for a Skilled Worker / Health & Care visa.

In these circumstances the Trust would not, therefore, be able to sponsor for a Skilled Worker / Health & Care visa.

Main duties of the job

The role requires an experienced professional with good organisational and communication skills and ability to provide space management advice based on the health and safety and workplace principles while working towards the Trust’s aspiration of smarter working environments.

In addition, the selected professional will be fully competent in the use of AutoCAD for drawing production and amendments.

This role requires the management and coordination of our space utilisation sensor programme across numerous Trust estate.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Undertake duties specifically pertinent to Property and Space Utilisation Services which would includes communicating with all relevant stakeholders as directed by the department leads.

Be responsible for providing factual data from occupation surveys taken across numerous properties to the Property and Space Utilisation Team to enable them to proactively manage the use of property while aligning to a longer-term vision that fits the Trust service needs.

Be responsible for the overall organisation of the occupation surveys which includes the planned organisation, pre - post communication, along with the physical installation and removal of the devices before collating the data reports for review.

Be responsible for the management and control of the drawings database that the Trust holds for all properties which will manner aligned to the project priorities and be responsible for the communication, installation and delivery of the final reports.

The appointed person will also record information on the latest drawings to highlight which services operate in which building or estate areas. This information will be collated through occupation surveys, routine property inspections include the management of any backlog or implemented capital, estates or property and space projects which are updated onto the latest drawings which are held on the database / register.

Provide drawing production support for the Property and Space Utilisation Team projects that are undertaken. This would include staff accommodation planning within allocated rooms (discussing how the accommodation can be set up to work best for them; talking through various options on building layout.), phasing plans, property boundaries and redevelopment proposals.

Generate a schedule of accommodation by room in Microsoft Excel following the completion of occupation surveys.

Other technical support to the team would be expected on an ad hoc basis and this could include the production of building schedule conditions.

Assist in compiling data to enable the completion of statutory returns including ERIC, Estates components of PLACE, Estates related CQC registration, Premises Assurance Model (PAM) and any other Estates related statutory return.

Essential criteria
  • Educated to degree level in a relevant discipline and/or relevant knowledge and experience.
Desirable criteria
  • Additional general education levels (A Level or GSCE to a lesser degree)

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Relevant experience in delivery of Smarter Working and space utilisation initiatives
  • Project Management and Delivery experience
  • Relevant experience of data analysis
  • Relevant experience in human management of staff
Desirable criteria
  • Relevant experience in strategic development, policy making

Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Knowledge of Smarter Working and Space utilisation practices, procedures and principles in buildings
Desirable criteria
  • Knowledge of the NHS, health care sector
  • Health & Safety legislation
  • Knowledge of building design (architectural)
