Associate Civil Engineer

FJA are recruiting on behalf of a leading service provider in the utilities industry for an experienced Associate Civil Engineer to strengthen their existing team.

Associate Civil Engineer role:

• This exciting role offers career progression for an Associate on our industry-leading aviation infrastructure team. You will report to the Associate Director and lead a Design team.

Associate Civil Engineer responsibilities:

• Collaborate with fellow Associates within the Airfield Ground Lighting team.
• Work closely with the aviation architectural and building services teams.
• Build and maintain relationships with both Airport clients and Contractor clients.
• Client-facing role with daily client interaction.
• Develop and deliver design programs, reports, and specifications, with ongoing progress monitoring.
• Oversee multiple projects.
• Support the development of fee proposals, tender submissions, and project interviews.

Associate Civil Engineer requirements:

• Experience in the design of airfield and highway pavements within Civil Engineering.
• Knowledge of airfield infrastructure design.
• Familiarity with the demands of working within a live airport environment.
• Project Management experience.
• Experienced in managing multiple projects/design disciplines.
• Understand commercial and buildability considerations.
• Experience in managing and mentoring teams of engineers and CAD technicians.
• Civil 3D skills and experience.
• Experienced in the use of construction materials within airfield infrastructure.
• Knowledge and experience in drainage design.
• Proven experience in the design and construction sector.

• Chartered Civil Engineer (MICE) with extensive design experience.
• Experience in aviation infrastructure design adhering to CAP 168, EASA, ICAO, and applicable military standards.
• Knowledge of airside operations within an airport environment.
• Experience in airfield pavement design utilizing standards such as DMG27 and FAA's FAARFIELD software.
• Capable of contributing to the development of fee proposals, tender submissions, and project interviews.
• Knowledge of NEC contracts and experience in preparing tender documents.
• Understanding of commercial and buildability considerations.
