The Hounslow Paediatric Speech and Language Therapy Team are seeking an enthusiastic, innovative Band 6 Specialist SLT to join the Mainstream Team.
The Mainstream Schools team provide:- a school based consultative assessment service which provides outreach support for both primary and secondary aged students.
- a specialist stream service which provides direct intervention for children and young people (CYP) with speech and/or dysfluency needs.

To deliver specialist clinical decision-making, including assessment, differential diagnosis, treatment, evaluation and general independent management of a diverse and highly complex caseload.
To be accountable for the development, delivery and quality of services for children with speech, language and communication needs by ensuring that the service is effective, well-co-ordinated and responsive to changing needs.To be responsible for providing specialist knowledge/training/advice in specialist field providing second opinions, clinical supervision and working with students, volunteers and assistants.
To deliver specialist training to the therapy team as well as to a range of professionals as appropriate.
To ensure effective joint working practice between own service, other speech and language therapists and other relevant professionals in the fields of health, education, the voluntary sector, social services.
To maintain an up-to-date, advanced level of theoretical knowledge and therapeutic evidence-based practice through Continuing Professional Development (CPD) activities, reading, clinical excellence networks (CENs) and external training courses.
