Solution Designer (Cisco Data Centre, NCS, Palo Alto, Aruba, AVI)

Overview:

As Solution Designer – Networks, you will first gather requirements and provide guidance and advice to deliver a proposal that meets the customer’s needs. You will work with pre-defined solutions, securing adaptations as required. Once agreed upon, you will see the proposal through implementation and handover to the customer and operations colleagues.

Reporting to the Technical Solutions Manager overseeing the technologies that SITA supports at Heathrow.

• Represent SITA in each new engagement, working with commercial and project colleagues to represent SITA positively.
• Elicit business requirements, applying these to the solution that best meets the needs of the engagement
• When needed, recommended and secure adaptations to pre-defined solutions to fully meet the needs of the engagement
• Work with commercial and project colleagues to prepare a proposal for the engagement.
• Build on the proposal to produce a design that can be implemented
• Be on hand for early life support requirements
• Support the transition of the solution to operations colleagues
• Contribute to product roadmaps so that solutions evolve with customer needs

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or equivalent extensive experience in the IT industry.
• Demonstrated expertise and experience in the design, delivery or support of networking solutions – specifically Network Security
• Experience in a technical pre-sales role
• Proven track record in producing, communicating and documenting successful technical customer solutions
• Strong Customer Focus with good people networking and presentation skills.
• Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills.
• Self-motivated and able to work in a goal-based environment with the ability to take initiative.
• Good planning, time management, prioritization and organizational skills
• Knowledge of MS Office
• Excellent communication skills, written and oral, while being completely fluent in English
• Technical certification (current or expired) in one or more of the following:

Palo Alto Networks

Cisco Networking (LAN)
