We’re looking for an experienced Infrastructure Operations Engineer to join our Digital Services and Technology team. The VCA is currently undergoing a widespread digital transformation, to improve its services and technology. You will be joining our team at an exciting time, as we work together to deliver a quality service, support and solutions to our staff, stakeholders and customers in the UK and overseas.

About Us

Our work is focused on improving vehicle safety and environmental protection by providing robust testing and certification to national and internationally recognised standards. We are a part of the Department of Transport as the designated UK Vehicle Type Approval Authority.

Central to the VCA’s digital and technology services, managing and maintaining the core infrastructure that underpins production services, you will play an active role in an operational capacity. Your skills in cloud-based platforms and IT architecture will be at the forefront of your daily work, responding to and resolving allocated incidents and problems.

Working in a fast-paced environment, you will need to be able to adapt and work flexibly with your team to ensure you are able to meet deadlines and manage conflicting task priorities.

As the VCA continues to transform its technology and digital services, to improve workflows and user experience, you will be encouraged to contribute to the development and improvement of these digital platforms, services and infrastructure; working closely with staff, customers and stakeholders in the UK and overseas.

Exemplary organisational skills, a high-level of attention to detail and effective communication methods will enable you to maintain complex systems, address potential challenges which may arise and offer support to those who require it.

To ensure you are kept up to date with the latest knowledge and skills, learning and development opportunities will be presented to you through the VCA, Civil Service and from external providers.
