What You’ll Be Doing As an apprentice in Construction Site Supervision, you’ll learn about our site operations and get involved in a variety of construction schemes in our Yorkshire North East or South West regions.
Working with our Operations Scheme Delivery teams, you’ll support on-site delivery in the construction phase of our civil engineering projects and discover:- How we track progress and quality
- How we manage health and safety standards
- How we work with our supply chain and specialist contractors Through hands-on site experience and a structured learning programme, you’ll be able to:
- Develop in-depth knowledge of industry standards (DMRB & MCHW) and skills you need to succeed in the civil engineering industry

- A desire and passion to grow your career at National Highways To be eligible for the apprenticeship learning programme, you’ll also need to meet these essential requirements:
- Minimum of five GCSEs or equivalent (including English, Maths and a Science, at grade C/grade 4 or above)
- OR - A Level 2 Apprenticeship in a related discipline.
- 11 September 2025.
You’ll complete a Level 4 apprenticeship, which will boost your career possibilities in construction site management, or help you qualify for a higher-level apprenticeship.
There’ll be plenty of opportunities to apply your learning, which will include regular visits to live sites.As our operations are 24/7, there will be times where you’ll need to work unsociable hours.
