Procurement Lead

Hours of work: 37 hours Monday to Thursday

We are seeking a dynamic Procurement & Supply Chain Specialist to support the Supply Chain Manager in delivering a high-quality procurement and supply chain service. This role will involve managing multiple procurement projects, ensuring value for money, reducing risk, and enhancing the procurement function within the organisation.

• CIPS qualified level 4
• Experience of RFQ/ITT processes and principles
• Strong procurement and supply chain experience within engineering, manufacturing, or similar sectors.
• Commercial knowledge with a proven ability to negotiate contracts effectively.
• Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to engage and influence at all levels.
• Experience in preparing and managing tender documentation and supplier contracts.
• Understanding of industry best practices in procurement and supply chain management.
• Ability to analyse supply markets and introduce new suppliers where necessary.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.

• Degree qualified in engineering, project management or equivalent

• Act as the Supply Chain Manager's deputy when required.
• Support the delivery of strategic procurement objectives, engaging with stakeholders early in the process.
• Manage and execute multiple sourcing strategies, including supplier market analysis, cost driver identification, and contract negotiation.
• Develop and maintain supplier relationships, ensuring alignment with the Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) strategy.
• Prepare and manage RFQ & ITT documentation, leading evaluation processes.
• Support contract negotiations, ensuring appropriate flow-down terms and compliance with NIS's commercial contracts.
• Work closely with project delivery teams to ensure seamless procurement integration and project success.
• Identify and implement procurement process improvements in line with industry best practices.
• Lead supplier selection and assessment to ensure quality, cost, and delivery targets are met.
• Conduct regular review meetings with project managers to address potential supply chain issues and develop mitigation strategies.
• Assist in closing out supplier non-conformances and drive 'Right First Time' initiatives across the supply chain.
