Chartered Building Surveyor Job Overview
  • Inspecting and advising on the design, construction, maintenance, repair, and refurbishment of various buildings.
  • Conducting a range of surveys, including acquisition surveys, condition reports, measured surveys, and defect investigations.
  • Preparing reports, schedules of work, and work specifications.
  • Designing and overseeing works using recognised building contracts and ensuring compliance with current technical standards.
  • Managing large-scale projects independently, delivering expert consultancy services.
  • Advising on relevant legislation, including health and safety, party wall matters, building regulations, and planning requirements.
  • Providing supervision and support to APC candidates, fostering knowledge and professional development.
  • Promoting the company's services and contributing to business development efforts.
Chartered Building Surveyor Job Requirements
  • MRICS-accredited Chartered Building Surveyor.
  • Experience in defect diagnosis, report writing, and insurance repair projects.
  • Strong working knowledge of consulting engineering, surveying, architectural, and planning practices.
  • Experience in contract administration and managing projects to deadlines and budgets.
  • Knowledge of CDM Regulations 2015, The Party Wall Act 1996, and Building Regulations.
  • Strong communication skills and experience in negotiation, leadership, and supervisory roles.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across Scotland as required.
