Reporting directly to the UK Head of Transport and Terminals the purpose of the UK Planning Manager will be to provide management and direction to the Planning teams across the UK. Maintaining a strong focus on both costs and service level performance whilst ensuring that the working time directive is managed effectively in order to meet the needs and demands of our business through the varying seasons.
Responsibilities
The UK Planning Manager will be responsible for ensuring that the local transport teams can deliver the highest standards of safety through the distribution of bulk and cylinder LPG by using the most efficient routes to market and ensuring the highest levels of customer satisfaction is achieved.
To achieve such objectives, the following responsibilities have been identified:
- To support the UK Head of Transport and Terminals with the strategic implementation which has been identified.
- Management of the logistics activity in the UK which includes both Primary and Secondary transport routes.
- Leadership and direction of the planning function to ensure route optimisation is secured and managed daily and where applicable reviewed to understand the difference between planned versus actual.
- Create a culture of continuous improvement through the direct leadership and coaching of colleagues and ensuring that direct accountability is given and managed daily.
- Drive for peak performance in the areas of Safety, Customer Experience, Supply Chain Optimisation and Financial Targets through Budget Responsibility and KPI reporting.
- Ensuring that teams are held accountable for their performance against both budget and company KPI’s and where applicable reviewed to understand the difference between planned versus actual.
- Leadership, management, coaching and development of the UK Planning team. Identification of capability gaps and internal talent development.
- Lead the delivery of a scheduling centre of excellence for the regional business driving the determination of tools, processes and people to deliver best in class scheduling.
- Budget responsibility for all Planning activities, ensuring all financial targets are understood and delivered
Pay: £39,661.00-£45,000.00 per year
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Chesterfield: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)
Experience:
- Supply chain: 3 years (required)
- Planning and Forecasting: 5 years (preferred)
- SIOP Process: 1 year (preferred)
