Opportunities have arisen for Social Work Practitioners within the Integrated Care Teams. As a result, Salford is now looking to recruit experienced and newly qualified Social Work practitioners; to be part of this and help us deliver our community led support vision.
That means having a passion for social work, enabling effective integrated working, promoting independence through reablement approaches and safeguarding adults in Salford. You will be responsible for carrying out social work duties, requiring the highest levels of skills, knowledge, and professional expertise.

You will assist the Team Manager in ensuring the delivery of effective, safe integrated services for adults through the promotion of high standards of practice in assessment and person-centred support planning being creative to meet individual outcomes.

The Adult Social Care workforce aims to improve outcomes for adults who live in Salford by empowering individuals, adopting a strength’s-based approach across the service, promoting independence, and working in partnership with our residents so their experiences, opportunities and lives are as good as they can be.

This will be achieved through developing a skilled and motivated workforce by investing in their continued professional development and ensuring their practice is current and of a high standard.

You will be a skilled, effective practitioner acting with considerable autonomy. You should have in depth knowledge and skill in one or more fields of practice which may have been developed through a formal post - qualifying training and development activity.
You should have or will be expected to undertake Practice Educator training and support student Social Workers. You may have or will be expected to undertake a postgraduate qualification and role in specialised practice e.g., AMHP, BIA. You will need to have capability to integrate professional knowledge, the views of people using services and research/evaluation evidence routinely in their practice.
You will need to demonstrate expert and effective practice in complex situations, assessing and managing higher levels of risk while promoting enablement and self-determination. You will need to network and liaise with a wider range of professionals and other colleagues, including at more senior or strategic levels.

You will need to manage complex caseloads and offer expert opinion within the organisation and to others.

We are committed to supporting the recruitment and retention of our Social Work staff. It is recognised by the Trust that many experienced Social Work staff are currently likely to be employed by local government organisations, and to ensure there is clarity over terms and conditions of employment we offer National Joint Council Pay Scales to Social Workers we appoint, rather than NHS pay-scales.

We have adopted the Greater Manchester Continuous Service Commitment which isused for recognising continuous service regarding annual leave, sickness, and maternity for moves within Greater Manchester. In addition, we also recognise previous, continuous, national local government service regarding annual leave.

To read more information about the advertised role, and the main job duties/responsibilities please open the Job Description and Person Specification located under the supporting documents heading. You can also read more information about working at the Northern Care Alliance within the attached Candidate Information Pack or by visiting our careers website:www.careers.northerncarealliance.nhs.uk

In line with the Trust’s Single Equality Scheme we welcome applications from everyone irrespective of ethnic origin, disability, age, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, nationality, religion, marital status, social back ground or trade union membership.

However, as members of ethnicity minority groups and individuals with disabilities are currently under-represented at this level of post, we would encourage applications from members of these groups. Appointment will be based on merit alone.
