Furze Platt Senior School is seeking a dedicated and hands-on Site Manager to help maintain our school buildings and grounds to the highest standards. This is a key role in ensuring our students and staff have a safe, clean, and well-maintained environment in which to learn and work.
About the Role
Reporting to the Estates Manager, you will:
- Ensure the security of the school site, including being on call for emergencies.
- Carry out maintenance and repairs, including basic plumbing, electrical work, and decorating.
- Supervise and support cleaners and assistant site staff.
- Act as the main point of contact for contractors and lettings outside of school hours.
- Oversee health and safety compliance, including fire safety and site risk assessments.
- Take responsibility for energy efficiency and recycling initiatives within the school.
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
- Experienced in site maintenance, ideally within a school or similar setting.
- Skilled in basic plumbing, electrics, and general maintenance.
- Organised and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Able to confidently take responsibility for the site in the absence of senior staff.
- Physically fit and capable of carrying out manual tasks such as lifting and using ladders.
- Committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- A willingness to undertake relevant training (such as Health & Safety, COSHH, or Legionella awareness) is desirable.
