Main duties of the job

We are looking for enthusiastic, dynamic and innovative Band 5 Staff Nurses who thrives in a challenging environment and are keen to make a positive impact on patient care.

Ward A5 Elective is a 16 bedded day case ward. With a wide selection of surgical, urology, gynaecology and ENT patients.

The successful candidates will possess excellent communication skills, time management and organisational skills and display a genuine passion for nursing.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Registered Nurse with a diploma/degree or relevant experience
Desirable criteria
  • Mentoring/ Teaching qualification

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience of working as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Experience working within a clinical area
  • Experience in delivering patient care
Desirable criteria
  • Acute Ward Experience
  • Gastroenterology Experience

Skills Knowledge & Competencies

Essential criteria
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal with the ability to overcome barriers to communication
  • Demonstrate evidence of personal development
  • Good organisational skills and able to prioritise and delegate
  • Confident in dealing with difficult situations
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • High standards of infection control and prevention
  • Knowledge of patient safety initiatives
Desirable criteria
  • Knowledge/qualification for Quality Improvement
  • Specific skills i.e Total parental nutrition, NG / NJ enteral feeding, NG insertion, central venous access devices
WHH hold a Sponsor Licence; this means that we may be able to sponsor you providing the Home Office requirements are met. To be eligible for sponsorship through the Skilled Worker route you’ll usually need to be paid the ‘standard’ salary rate of at least £38,700 per year, or the ‘going rate’ for your job, whichever is higher.
