Do you want to help to maintain and develop the service which provides long term surveillance of patients with a hip or knee replacement?

Do you want to work in a multidisciplinary team, taking responsibility for your workload but working in conjunction with the Orthopaedic Consultants, to develop a patient-centred service?

The Orthopaedic team at Weston General Hospital has an opportunity for you to join as a Band 6 Physiotherapist or Nurse in the Outpatient Department to continue developing the service that supports patients with a hip or knee replacement, working 15.0 hours per week. You will be working weekdays only at Weston with no weekend or Bank Holiday commitment.

The team is multidisciplinary with other Nurses and Physiotherapists working in extended roles in the department.

You will be working alongside other team members and with supervision from our senior orthopaedic surgeon with responsibility for revision surgery. You will be required to access written and computerized information to set up clinics, order diagnostic tests, record results and liaise with the surgeon for review of the results.

You will be responsible for conveying results to patients through telephone or face-to-face clinics, and completing the patient clinical notes. There is scope to develop your skills of x-ray image interpretation and patient assessment through continued professional development while in the role.
